Graphic Design

While I don’t consider myself a Graphic Designer by trade, I have taken on occasional design responsibilities for clients. Retrofit Home is a retail store in Seattle’s hip and trendy Capitol Hill neighborhood. They do print ads in City Arts Magazine and The Stranger, a local weekly paper. Below are some of the ads I created for them.* All product imagery is original content, staged and photographed by me. The image to the right is a sticker design I created for them. The “big orange chair” is instantly recognizable to anyone who has been to the store because it has been sitting outside of their Pike/Pine location for over a decade. It’s the first thing people notice, so I thought it would make a perfect sticker for people to take as a souvenir, considering the fact that much of their business comes from tourism.

I created both of these logos below for hobby projects of mine. Carefully Curated Cards was just a fun idea for a card club. The concept was simple: You get a monthly pack of cards and cute surprises like pencils and stickers while discovering new indie card creators. I came up with the idea while frantically rushing to the store for a last-minute birthday card, cursing myself for not being better prepared. I also have a lifelong obsession with all things stickers, stationery, and paper goods. I can’t walk into an art supply store and come out empty-handed.

Bourbon and Bromeliads is what I chose to name my Etsy store where I primarily sold creations made from air plants and succulents. I also sold handmade macrame plant hangers, mixed media wall art that holds plants, and the occasional vintage item. The logo was inspired by the gorgeous Art Deco architecture of various greenhouses I’ve toured over the years.
